Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. She was named by her parents after the town in which she grew in. Michel Horowitz is her father as well as Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's father was from an ethnically Jewish family Ryder considers herself Jewish. Ryder is the younger sister of Uria, and has half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's parents moved her along with their children into Mendocino County California when Ryder turned seven. At the time, there were no electric lights. Ryder, who was an avid reader when she was 12, became a bookworm since Ryder was not able to access television. Ryder, then 12, was enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. In 1986 she landed her first big-screen role in the movie Lucas when she was just fifteen years old. Ryder faced bullying in high school. Her hope was that the acting profession would alter this. However, it didn't come pass. It didn't stop her from pursuing dreams. Her big break occurred in the year 1988, when Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was a star in various films. There were two Academy Awards were nominated, one of which was for The Age of Innocence (1996).
